Andrea K. Fisher, Esq. / Managing Director

Andrea joined SJL as a Managing Director after over a decade in practice as a bankruptcy attorney at two global AmLaw 100 firms. As a bankruptcy lawyer, she focused on litigation, overseeing and arguing large-scale controversies arising out of the federal bankruptcy code. Prior to entering practice, Andrea clerked for the late Judge Jeffry H. Gallet in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

Over her many years of legal practice, Andrea has served as a senior mentor to dozens of associates – both formally and informally  – guiding them with respect to the management of their careers and assisting in their long-term development. In addition, Andrea was an active law firm citizen, becoming a member and leader of a range of law firm groups and initiatives, notably those aimed at developing women. As a recruiter, she is able to leverage the insight and experience she gained from these interactions, using her first-hand knowledge of the market, and law firm culture, to help candidates find career success and satisfaction. Additionally, Andrea counsels law students on how to approach OCI.

Andrea’s entrenchment in the New York legal community dates back to her time at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she was a member of the Moot Court Board, and where she began building her vast network of professional contacts. Prior to law school, Andrea was a buyer for Macy’s New York.

Andrea lives in Manhattan with her husband and three children and loves to cook, read, travel and design jewelry.
