Hope B. Barry, Esq. / Managing Director
Hope joined SJL Attorney Search as a Managing Director after several years as a litigation and intellectual property associate at White & Case LLP. Her diverse practice included commercial litigation, international jurisdictional disputes, and intellectual property-related litigation and corporate financings and acquisitions. Hope also committed significant time to pro bono matters concerning contested divorce representation, special education rights and the development of international law and policy on the right to privacy of information. As a member of the firm's Global Women's Networking Committee and associate mentoring programs, she gained a detailed understanding of how to map attorneys' career goals and the importance of finding professional satisfaction in order to reach one's potential. Her experience practicing in both a boutique and a large law firm setting provided first-hand knowledge of the advantages and challenges of practicing in different legal environments.
Hope focuses on law firm and in-house placements at the associate level within the New York metropolitan area and across the United States. She is a valued resource for attorneys seeking guidance and advice in connection with their practice, professional development, and long-term career goals.
Hope earned her undergraduate degree from Mount Holyoke College where she was a member, and captain, of the varsity tennis team and spent her junior year studying abroad in Madrid. Upon graduation, she worked as the chief legal assistant on a complex litigation matter involving the dissolution of Enron, and later earned her law degree from New York Law School.
