Nicole E. Spira, Esq. / Partner

Prior to joining SJL, Nicole worked at several elite global law firms – Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP ("Cravath"), Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP ("Weil"), and Kaye Scholer LLP – first as a practicing litigator, and then on the administrative side in professional development and legal personnel management. As a manager, Nicole had the opportunity to work with associates and partners on a variety of matters and in doing so, honed her counseling skills and learned the intricacies of law firm operation.

Leveraging her experience in the New York legal industry, Nicole applies her multidimensional background to help candidates find their optimal professional environment. A natural counselor and connector, Nicole acts as a co-partner in these relationships, building a dialogue as she works in tandem with candidates to achieve short and long-term career goals. Law firms respect Nicole’s approach as she is both thoughtful and strategic.

Nicole speaks frequently on industry panels – at NYCRA, the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Georgetown University Law Center and Northwestern Law School – as an expert on trends in the New York legal market. Additionally, Nicole counsels Harvard and Stanford law students on how to approach On-Campus Interviewing.

Nicole graduated cum laude from Duke University with her B.A. in History. She earned her law degree from Fordham University where she was a member of the Fordham Urban Law Journal.

In her free time, Nicole loves spending time with her family and friends in the Berkshires, visiting her family in South Africa and debating with her husband and step-children on whether to get a French bulldog. She is also a Barry’s Bootcamp devotee.
