Thomas joined SJL as a Managing Director after seven and a half years in legal practice as a finance attorney, specializing in leveraged finance and commercial real estate finance transactions at Kaye Scholer LLP (now Arnold & Porter) and Jones Day. Embracing his more entrepreneurial side, he also co-founded and served as general counsel for an environmental consulting firm specializing in LEED certification and renewable energy projects.
During his legal career, Thomas most enjoyed collaborating with younger attorneys and counseling them in the development of their legal skills and law firm careers. He continues to advise associates with SJL.
Thomas graduated from the University of Scranton with a B.A. in English. He earned his law degree from Fordham University School of Law where he was a member of the Moot Court Board and a champion of the 2005 William B. Spong Jr. Invitational Moot Court Competition.
Thomas is passionate about raising money for rare cancer research with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cycle for Survival, training for triathlons and motorcycle rides on the open road.
