Victoria S. Shin, Esq. / Managing Director

Victoria joined SJL as a Managing Director after ten years in legal practice as a litigator at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, Seyfarth Shaw LLP, and as an Assistant United States Attorney, Civil Division, in the District of Connecticut. Prior to entering practice, Victoria clerked for the late Judge Mark R. Kravitz in the United States District Court, District of Connecticut.

What inspires Victoria is her appreciation of how hard associates worked to develop their careers, and how helpful it can be for associates to connect with a recruiting professional who values not only their success but also their overall satisfaction with where they are and where they are going.

Victoria earned her J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. She graduated from Smith College magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa and with Highest Honors in Philosophy. Between college and law school, Victoria was an instructor at Kaplan Test Prep and was enrolled in a Master's program in Analytic Philosophy at NYU, during which time she realized that legal practice better aligned with her goals.

Outside the workplace, Victoria is passionate about conservation and photography, and is a volunteer for the Wildlife Conversation Society. She also tries to spend as much time as she can with her dog and two cats.
