Victoria S. Shin, Esq. / Managing Director



Victoria joined SJL as a Managing Director after ten years in legal practice as a litigator at Seyfarth Shaw LLP, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and as an Assistant United States Attorney, Civil Division, in the District of Connecticut. Prior to entering practice, Victoria clerked for the late Judge Mark R. Kravitz in the United States District Court, District of Connecticut.

Victoria's chief objective is to work with each attorney to understand his/her goals, talents and priorities in order to effectively explore and pursue opportunities for change that will be fulfilling and rewarding.

Victoria earned her J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. She graduated from Smith College magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa and with Highest Honors in Philosophy. Between college and law school, Victoria was an instructor at Kaplan Test Prep and was enrolled in a Master's program in Analytic Philosophy at NYU, during which time she realized that legal practice better aligned with her professional and personal interests.

Outside the workplace, Victoria is an avid marathoner, a newbie triathlete and a devoted SoulCycle rider. She is also involved in Girls on the Run, a non-profit organization that promotes leadership, self-esteem, mutual respect and community among young girls through running programs.
